Easter Sunday Fun

Had a lovely relaxing Easter Sunday making friendship bracelts with the Mr (shh it was actually his idea too ;P)

Here is the website we originally used but decided it was a bit difficult for a first try

So here is the link to the braclets we actually ended up making

And here is the first design, proving that is isnt that hardd once you get the hang of...there was a lot of un-picking and re-doing for a while though

Mollies Makes

I have found the most amazing magazine. If I only had enough money for a subscription. I have decided on a new project for myself....a very big project to be infact. I plan to make a crochet blanket, after I learn how to crochet again, I vaguely remember crocheting when I was little.

Now here is the yarn I am going ot use. Its Rowan wool, 4ply.
Still need a couple more colours to make it a cool blanket but I'll get them later
Here is my first square :D

Draught Excluder

My little project for this morning was a draught excluder, whoever built this house didnt realise they needed to keep it warm in the winter.

Now this isn't the best one I could of made but I'm only going to need it for a couple of months so hopefully it will last that long.

Easy Peasy to make. Just make sure your fabric is about 4cm bigger than your door. I used a leg of some old tights and filled it with rice to make the inside....think I used a little bit too much rice as it is rather heavy but if it keeps my room warm its worth it!

I used some old bits of vinyl I had cut out at University to create a random pattern on a scrap of linen I had and hey presto!

Think I need to make the outside fabric a smaller tube....maybe next time

How does your garden grow?

Another little item I finished today. It's little things like stapling the canvas to the frame that gets me excited and why I love making. Cant wait to get some more canvas designs finished.

Christmas bunting

So with my stuff being sold in the new shop THEM in Leicester's St Martin SQ I decided to make some yummy christmas bunting that actually had Merry Christmas stitched onto it. Below are a few images of the process. This venture took an extrememly long time but I have to say the end result looks better than I expected. Anyone wanting one custom made just needs to get in touch but please bare in mind that the letters will now be printed onto the fabric to help keep costs down.
Letters reading for ironing onto the fabric and being cut out
Lots and lots triangles waiting for their letters to be placed

Everything ready for stitching down into place
Finished yey! just a big mess of bunting to untangle and package
Ready and waiting to be taken to the shop, I will take photos of the one I have left to decorate my lovely house in nearer christmas.

New to the family

Finally finished some robots and little bears to add to my growing little family of creations waiting to find new homes.

I feel my photography skills need to improve...if only I had a space I could leave as a mini photography studio but alas my house does not accommodate for such needs. I mean just look at my embarrassingly cluttered space where all my materials and supplies are kept...cant believe I am actually posting this photo....
I swear after this blog updating lark I am going to sort it out it is getting ridiculous!
